: Recognition/Approval
of Nursing Schools of Karnataka State Nursing Council
– reg.
In exercise of Powers conferred under section 23(1)
of the Karnataka Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors
Act 1961 and rules there under an inspection committees
were constituted to inspect the nursing training schools.
The reports of the inspection committee was placed
before the council meeting held on 24th may 2007,
the council unanimously decided to accord provisional
recognition to 251 institutions annexed to this notification.
The Provisional recognition
accorded to the institutions subject to the following
terms and conditions :
The teaching staff should be appointed as per the
INC/KNC Norms.
Proper facilities in hostel, library & laboratories
should be maintained well.
Nursing Arts Lab & Demonstration Room & Practical
Records should be maintained well.
Acquaintance roll of teaching staff, attendance register
properly maintained.
All other facilities required for Nursing Teaching
Programme should be provided.
The institutions has to obtain the permission of the
Hon’ble High Court before making any admission
to the schools for the academic year
The institutions shall obtain the suitability under
section 13 of the INC Act from the Indian Nursing
Council.
The Recognition shall be renewed every academic year
as required under section 49(c) of the Karnataka State
Nursing Council Bye-law 1991.
All the institutions should abide by the conditions
and strictly adhere to it.

Sub:
Issue of Provisional Certificate by School of Nursing
and Internship Certificate by Hospitals where Candidates
have undergone internship training – reg.
Nursing students who have passed 3 years Diploma Nursing
Examination conducted by the Karnataka State Nursing
Examination Board and six months internship shall be
directed to register in the Karnataka State Nursing
Council. They should produce the following documents
at the time of registration.
Six Months internship Certificate issued by hospitals.
